The dampner is there to prevent potential spikes in fuel pressure. Many have said they remove it on a stock rail with no issues. I would imagine spikes are occurring because the stock rail can't flow that much so the pressure builds up? If that's the case (and I'm not sure if it is), the 300 degree rail flows much more, so there should be even less of a worry of spikes in pressure. Two reasons to get the aftermarket fpr would be one - for more flow (larger lines than stock fpr can handle), and two - to give you adjustability. If you don't need either of those things, I would say stay with the stock fpr. But someone please chime in if I'm wrong.
